In this final study through 2 Thessalonians, we walk through Chapter 3 and see how Paul brings the letter from prophetic correction into practical Christian living.
Chapter 1 taught us to endure suffering with hope. Chapter 2 warned us not to be deceived concerning the Day of the Lord, the falling away, the man of sin, and the mystery of iniquity.
Now Chapter 3 shows us how believers should live while waiting for Christ: praying faithfully, walking orderly, working quietly, correcting lovingly, and continuing in well doing.
Paul calls the church to pray that the Word of the Lord would have free course and be glorified. He reminds them that the Lord is faithful, that He will stablish His people, and that He will keep them from evil.
This chapter also gives strong instruction concerning disorder, idleness, and busybodies. Yet Paul keeps correction brotherly: “count him not as an enemy, but admonish him as a brother.”
